Second Sunday in Advent

Sermon Title – Seeking A King

Sermon Theme – A lot of work is performed when a King comes in your midst.  Things are moved.  Landscapes are changed.  And what about our hearts?

Scripture – Isaiah 40:1-11

Key Verse

He tends his flock like a shepherd:

He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart;

He gently leads those that have young.       ~Isaiah 40:11

          Into our busy hearts and homes

       May we have a place for a guest.

       With schedules full and lists the same,

       May Jesus the Messiah be welcome.

Dear God, You have prepared many things for the birth of Your Son.  Jesus is a gift that You sent for us.  Help us to keep our eyes open and our hearts   ready to receive Him.   May we seek and find Jesus this Advent season, and always.  Amen.
