Bethany UMC Weekly Announcements
Worship Announcements
The Easter Choir will be going out to lunch on Sunday May 4 to Mi Rancho. Choir members bring your family and please plan to attend. We will meet there at 11:00.
May 11 – Mother’s Day and Confirmation Sunday – We look forward to honoring all of the ladies in our church family. In addition, we will witness Lucy Huffer make a commitment to her faith journey as she joins the church. Light refreshments to follow.
Mission Opportunities
We collected $611 in donations to those affected by the California Wildfires. As always, thank you for your financial and missional care for our neighbors. A check will be sent to VAUMC for these donations this week.
Friends of Barnabas Donation Jar- We will be collecting funds for our September Honduran Mission Team, leading up to our trip. This donation jar alongside the Share Night next week and Christmas in July Yard Sale will be our big fundraisers. The team has to raise $11,500 team funds which will cover the cost of supplies and medications for our neighbors in Honduras, throughout the week. Each member on the team has to pay $2,250 for their personal expenses. We invite you to prayerfully support our team with your gifts throughout the next few months.
Hygiene Kits for Annual Conference – We will collect kits starting April 27th – May 25th. The church already has Ziplock bags so we only need the items for packing. Watch for a complete list of items in the May Echo.
Women’s Ministry will be hosting a “packing party” to assemble the items received for the Hygiene Kits going to Annual Conference on Monday, May 26th. More details to come.
Mark your calendar now, as we will be hosting our next Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday June 6th from 10-4pm in the Social Hall. There is a sign-up in the Welcome Center for the drive!
We will be hosting our “Christmas in July” Yard Sale on Saturday July 26th at the Weyers Cave Community Center from 8am-1pm. All proceeds will go to help our September Honduras Mission Team. We will be asking for a $15 donation for those wanting a table to set up their personal yard sale. Now is the time to clean out your garage, purge those extra things, and set them aside and be ready to earn a little extra cash! As well as the Christmas in July Yard Sale and individuals personal Yard Sales, we will also be selling BBQ sandwiches and hosting a bake sale. If you have any questions or want to reserve a table for your own yard sale, please reach out to Amy Michael.

Other Announcements
To encourage involvement with our youth, the church office would like to hear from our youth parents. It has been suggested that we publish a list of events that our youth are involved in so that Bethany members can support our youth in their endeavors. If you are willing to share this information to our members email your child’s schedule to the church office (office.bethany@gmail.com).
For parents considering sending their children to Camp Overlook for Summer Camp, you can register your children online at: https://www.campoverlook.org/collections/summer-camp. Also, just a reminder that we have scholarships available to assist with the cost of Camp! If you have any questions about that, please reach out to Pastor Blaine.
Thanks to all of those that have committed to mow the church lawn. We still need volunteers to mow April and September. If you don’t want to commit for a month but are willing to substitute for someone, add your name to the list. We have a zero-turn mower and gas will be reimbursed (with receipts). You can mow when it suits you (except on Sunday mornings). If you enjoy being outside, please prayerfully consider if this is something you can do. There will be substitutes if you need to miss a week. There is a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center. If you have any questions reach out to Mark Dunsmore.
